What is Ning?

According to Wikipedia, Ning is an online platform for users to create their own social websites and social networks. The unique feature of Ning is that anyone can create their own custom social network for a particular topic or need, catering to specific audiences.

"Ning enables you to create and discover social networks for the most important people and interests in your life. As soon as you sign in to, you can track the activity on your social networks, keep up with all of your friends, and discover new social networks — all in one place."

Reasons for use

  • Social networking and learning.
  • Create Nings for class projects and/or focus groups.
  • To discuss specific topics, units, lessons, etc.
